Anyone who’s ever owned a computer has probably heard of Call of Duty: one of the most popular and engaging computer games that ever existed. But, like any great game….well, any great anything, really, Call of Duty immediately shook things up. It was like someone took the legendary Counter Strike and made it more interesting, more intoxicating and just…well, more. Fans all over the world immediately fell in love with it and probably the best thing about this incredible franchise originally devised by Activision is the fact that it has consistently been failing to disappoint its multi-million fan base across the globe. In other words, ever since the first installment, it has continuously been improved and upgraded, to the point where the latest additions to the saga are expected to officially be released on November 3rd. In case you’re wondering if they’ll have anything new to bring to the table, you’ll be surprised how inventive its creators are capable of being.
Version 1: A New Take On A Proven Recipe
The first version of the game scheduled to be released on the 3rd of November is Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Day Zero Edition. This installment of the game, which was developed by (the co-developer of an earlier version of the game you might have played – Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3) Sledgehammer Games, features the development cycle in the history of the franchise that focuses on the first three years, in addition to boasting all-round next generation weaponry, technology and world.
The main focus of the game has shifted to providing a gameplay that features a new era of combat. Tactic, as well as technology, have evolved to a level that is characteristic and feels right at home for the powerful battlegrounds of the future, as envisioned by the expert team of creators, credited for the successful Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
An Unexpected Surprise
Perhaps one of the biggest and, at the same time, most pleasant surprises is the fact that Jonathan Irons, who is one of the single most powerful men in the entire world in the game, is gloriously portrayed by the incredible and legendary Kevin Spacey, who you all know to be an Academy Award winning actor. His take on the future of war, depicted in the game, is as chilling as it is fascinating.
A Higher Level
As for the soldier himself in the game, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Day Zero Edition features the evolution of every single aspect of his battle readiness, thanks to powerful exoskeletons. The largest advantages for players that come with the introduction of such gameplay mechanic are mirrored in the enhanced verticality and player movement, that come through covert cloaking abilities, grappling, boost jumps, as well as:
- Unmatched speed;
- Endurance;
- Awareness and
- Strength.
It Could Happen
As for the world in which Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Day Zero Edition takes place, it is safe to say that today’s military practices, combined with creative technological progress, have given birth to a plausible future that features epic consequences. The attention to detail that has gone into creating this world is obvious to anyone who bothers to look into this well researched and thoroughly imagined possible future, with PMCs (or Private Military Corporations) being the dominant armed forces that are rewriting the rules of war and redrawing borders. Kevin Spacey, or better to say – Jonathan Irons happens to be the president and founder of the largest PMC in the world – the Atlas Corporation.
A Complete Sensation
Finally, when one takes a look at the weaponry in this installment of the game, they cannot help but wonder where all that creativity has come from. A new ability set, paired with an advanced, hi-tech arsenal, allows the players to dive into the battlegrounds of the future in an incredibly realistic, and at the same time, very engaging and interesting way. Vehicles like highly specialized drones and hoverbikes only add to the equation.
Version 2: A Whole Other Ball Park
On the other hand, the Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Atlas Pro Edition is a slightly different, but equally intoxicating version of the same awesome game. Considered by its creators to be the ultimate die-hard fans player package, one of the Atlas Pro Edition’s most interesting features is the Atlas Gorge Bonus Multiplayer Map. Unlike the Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Day Zero Edition, the Atlas Gorge Map has taken it upon itself to re-envision one of by far the most popular maps ever in the game, featured in the legendary Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare – the Pipeline.
In this map, the story goes that the largest power source in the world, which is the Three Gorges Dam located in central China, has been commandeered by the Atlas Corporation. A multiplayer battle in this gripping setting is only amplified by the sinister backdrop of the dam itself. Navigating the shadows, while at the same time exploiting all the advantages of the new exoskeleton technology, is guaranteed to provide hours and hours of great fun.

If It Ain’t Broke, Why Fix It?
Ever since the first modern computer games were invented, it became blatantly obvious that the gaming experience can only be amplified by a great in-game soundtrack. The Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Atlas Pro Edition features a unique playlist designed to deeply immerse the player in the game. Original music by Audiomachine, as well as themes & main title by Harry Gregson-Williams, are what players can expect to hear.
Bonus Features For The Pro’s And Enthusiasts
And for all the die-hard fans of the series, this edition of the game, which is particularly inspired by the all-mighty Atlas Corporation, boasts an incredible number of specially customized in-game additions and content:
- A custom, state of the art Atlas Helmet;
- A special Atlas Exoskeleton – if you want to make sure your competition remembers who it was that obliterated them, this custom black, red & white PMC-issued Atlas exoskeleton will help you strike fear into your opponents;
- Additional weaponry – the Atlas 45 AE Pistol and the Bal-27 AE Assault Rifle are there to help you tackle various obstacles throughout the game, complete with their custom Atlas Corporation theme;
- Single Player Exoskeleton Upgrade Token – provides an additional upgrade for your exoskeleton, thus allowing you to already have an advantage when you decide to go into Campaign etc.
A Genuine Win-Win Situation
At the end of the day, both of these versions of the game offer incredibly different and characteristic content, even though they’re based on the same game and are, in fact, part of the same franchise. Considering the fact that they’re both being released on the same date, November 3rd, the choice of which one to order lies entirely up to you. When one looks at these two editions and compares them head to toe, it cannot be said that they possess any aspect that makes them incredibly better or worse than one another. The bare naked truth is – it’s all a matter of taste. Whether you’re a particular fan of the Atlas Corporation, or you’re interested in fully exploring the possibilities of the new exoskeleton across various battlefields is irrelevant; what does matter is the fact that you’re looking at incredible fun whichever version you opt for.
Love this game enjoy playing online.
Worst COD games ever, can’t stand all the flying and jumping around.
one word “Awesomeness”
This is fun and fast paced game. If you want the classic cod then don’t get this one.
This game makes me laugh this is not COD this is HALO advanced warfare!
Extremely disappointed. I agree the poster above me…it’s more like halo..
I agree both comments above..this is kids cod version…
The exosuit adds new depth to the mulitplayer mode, which adds to the experience altogether.
The number of cheating and exploiting throughout multiplayer is ridiculous. Very unusual to have a reasonable match up exactly where players do not glitch through walls and to be able to go out of range and eliminate players. The amount of lag!!! OMG!!!
